What Claude can do with CaseMagic

"Explain the latest filing in that case."

The exact words the court published for that entry, the entries around it and where the case stands, so the assistant can explain the filing rather than guess at it. Still no account needed.

"What dates are set in that case?"

Only the dates the docket itself states — "Responses due by 14 October", "Hearing set for 2 March" — each quoted with the entry that says so. CaseMagic works nothing out from the court rules, and says so when the docket sets no dates.

"What happened in my case this week?"

Every docket entry CaseMagic has recorded since then, with the date each one was filed.

"Keep watching this case and tell me when it changes."

Monitoring starts on the case, and CaseMagic emails you when the docket moves — whether or not you ever open the assistant again.

"What did opposing counsel send to my case address?"

The correspondence collected at the case’s CaseMail address, kept alongside the docket in the same record.

"Load everything you have on my case before we start."

The Case Passport: the docket history and the correspondence as one record, so nothing has to be re-uploaded or re-explained.

How to connect

1. In Claude, open Customize, then Connectors. On some accounts this menu is still called Settings; both open the same page.
2. Press the + beside Connectors, or "Add custom connector".
3. Name it CaseMagic and paste the CaseMagic address below. Leave Advanced settings alone — CaseMagic registers itself.
4. Press Add. Claude sends you to a CaseMagic page to sign in and approve the connection; the four things it will be allowed to do are named there in plain words.
5. Approve it, then ask Claude about your case.

On a Team or Enterprise Claude account an owner has to add the connector for the organisation first, under Organization settings, Connectors; after that each person authorises it for themselves and Claude only ever sees what that person can see. On a free Claude account you may keep one custom connector at a time.

From the Claude API

Anthropic’s MCP connector takes a server URL and an OAuth token. The token is one CaseMagic issues through the same sign-in as above, so you authorise once in a browser and keep the access token.

What CaseMagic shares

• The case you ask about: its caption, court, case number, judges and docket entries, read from the court source.
• For a case you have connected, its Case Passport — the docket history and the correspondence collected at its CaseMail address, as one record.
• Nothing about any case you have not connected, and nothing about any other account.

It travels one way. CaseMagic receives the requests Claude makes to it and nothing else: not the rest of your conversation, not your files, not your other tools.

Privacy and permissions

Before anything is shared, CaseMagic shows you a sign-in screen naming exactly four permissions. These are the four, in the words that screen uses:

• Read the cases you have connected: docket activity and your Case Passport.
• Connect a case and start or stop CaseMagic Watch on it.
• Read the correspondence in your CaseMail address for a connected case.
• Draft a CaseMail message for you to review. It can never send one by itself.

The last one is worth reading twice: an assistant can write a message for you and can never send one. It hands you a link, the link expires, and nothing leaves CaseMagic until you open it and confirm.

Disconnecting ends the access at once rather than at the end of a session, and it changes nothing about your case: the docket history, the CaseMail address and the Case Passport all stay exactly as they were. See how CaseMagic handles your data.
