CaseMagic and Claude

Give Claude the case once. After that it can read what has been filed, tell you what changed, and start monitoring without you leaving the conversation.

What Claude can do with CaseMagic

"Check case 1:23-cv-11195 in the Southern District of New York."
The caption, the court, the judges, the cause of action and the latest docket entries, read from the court source while you wait. No CaseMagic account needed.
"Explain the latest filing in that case."
The exact words the court published for that entry, the entries around it and where the case stands, so the assistant can explain the filing rather than guess at it. Still no account needed.
"What dates are set in that case?"
Only the dates the docket itself states — "Responses due by 14 October", "Hearing set for 2 March" — each quoted with the entry that says so. CaseMagic works nothing out from the court rules, and says so when the docket sets no dates.
"What happened in my case this week?"
Every docket entry CaseMagic has recorded since then, with the date each one was filed.
"Keep watching this case and tell me when it changes."
Monitoring starts on the case, and CaseMagic emails you when the docket moves — whether or not you ever open the assistant again.
"What did opposing counsel send to my case address?"
The correspondence collected at the case’s CaseMail address, kept alongside the docket in the same record.
"Load everything you have on my case before we start."
The Case Passport: the docket history and the correspondence as one record, so nothing has to be re-uploaded or re-explained.

How to connect

  1. In Claude, open Customize, then Connectors. On some accounts this menu is still called Settings; both open the same page.
  2. Press the + beside Connectors, or "Add custom connector".
  3. Name it CaseMagic and paste the CaseMagic address below. Leave Advanced settings alone — CaseMagic registers itself.
  4. Press Add. Claude sends you to a CaseMagic page to sign in and approve the connection; the four things it will be allowed to do are named there in plain words.
  5. Approve it, then ask Claude about your case.

The CaseMagic address: https://casemagic.ai/mcp

On a Team or Enterprise Claude account an owner has to add the connector for the organisation first, under Organization settings, Connectors; after that each person authorises it for themselves and Claude only ever sees what that person can see. On a free Claude account you may keep one custom connector at a time.

From the Claude API

Anthropic’s MCP connector takes a server URL and an OAuth token. The token is one CaseMagic issues through the same sign-in as above, so you authorise once in a browser and keep the access token.

Shape taken from Anthropic’s own MCP connector documentation, read on 18 September 2026. Check their current documentation before relying on it.

What CaseMagic shares

It travels one way. CaseMagic receives the requests Claude makes to it and nothing else: not the rest of your conversation, not your files, not your other tools.

Privacy and permissions

Before anything is shared, CaseMagic shows you a sign-in screen naming exactly four permissions. These are the four, in the words that screen uses:

The last one is worth reading twice: an assistant can write a message for you and can never send one. It hands you a link, the link expires, and nothing leaves CaseMagic until you open it and confirm.

Disconnecting ends the access at once rather than at the end of a session, and it changes nothing about your case: the docket history, the CaseMail address and the Case Passport all stay exactly as they were. See how CaseMagic handles your data.

Nothing below is marked as working until someone has connected it and watched a real case come back. The CaseMagic side is live in production; what is untested is this provider's half of the handshake.

What is free and what is paid

Everything about the past is free. Everything about the future is paid. Checking a case costs nothing and needs no account.

Free, every time

  • the case caption, court and case number
  • the assigned and referred judges
  • filing date, status, cause of action and nature of suit
  • the total number of docket entries
  • the five most recent docket entries with their real text
  • a link to the free copy of a filing where one exists
  • the time the docket was last checked

What a subscription adds

  • continuous monitoring, so you are told about new activity instead of checking
  • a permanent CaseMail address for the case
  • the Case Passport, which accumulates docket activity and correspondence together
  • access from ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Grok and other MCP-capable assistants

A free check reads the court source and then serves the same answer for 15 minutes. A watched case is re-checked about every 6 hours. Nothing here is real time, and every result carries the time it was last checked.

Questions people ask before they start

Can I use the same CaseMagic account from Claude and from ChatGPT?

Yes, and that is the point of the Case Passport: one record of the case that any assistant you authorise can load. Each connection is approved separately and can be removed separately.

Does Claude keep a copy of my case?

CaseMagic holds the record. What Claude has is whatever it read during your conversation, under whatever retention Anthropic applies to that conversation. Removing the connection stops any further access immediately.

Can Claude send email as me?

No. It can write a draft and hand you a link. The message leaves CaseMagic only after you open that link and confirm it, and the link expires.
