A law blog, a firm's site or a local newsroom can show who was sued in its district, or let a reader look up a federal case, without building anything. Each widget is a small frame served by CaseMagic. It runs no script and sets no cookie. CaseMagic counts how often a widget loads but is not told which page it is on, and links open on CaseMagic in a new tab.
Added to the widget’s links so you can see the visits it sends. Lower-case letters, numbers and hyphens.

What the widgets show, and what they do not
The lawsuit list is the same list as the lawsuit wire: civil cases read from the court's public docket feed and shown 48 hours after filing. Not every court publishes every case in its feed, so the list is not complete. Each widget says when it was last updated.
The lookup box opens CaseMagic's free case check with the number filled in. It covers federal district courts only, not state courts.
The optional label you give a widget is added to its links so you can see the visits it sent. It is your label; nothing about your readers is added to it.
Widget loads are rate limited per address and cached for ten minutes.
